Resolving Bugs
This page contains information about how to get your bugfixes into Freeway.
How to contribute
- You can just go ahead and pick a bug from the bugtracker.
- Start hacking and fix the problem.
- Once done, you can create a patch and upload it to the bugtracker. Make sure to mark the Content Type checkbox "patch" so that other developers can easily see that there is a patch attached.
- Since you might want to get some feedback from other people, it could be useful to make a request for comment to bugannounce(at)openfreeway.org. (We will set up a mailing list around this)
How changes are commited
Freeway is becoming quite stable. To improve stability we need to set some rules to assure that we won't be making "dodgy" bug fixes:
- First, please help to prevent obvious bugs. Use the "comment" feature of the bugtracker to reach other people with the same problem. Try to get as much feedback as possible. Meanwhile, please publish the patch in case nobody was willing to help.
- Subversion access is write-protected for everybody except the ZacWare staff at present.
- Every patch must be reviewed by two members of the ZacWare development team. This should prevent bugs and misconceptions to get into Subversion. You can get in touch with them via the support(at)zac-ware.com email address.
- (Over time, we will extend the core development group outside ZacWare )
* Dodgy, 1.) Evasive; shifty. 2.) Unsound, unstable, and unreliable. 3.) So risky as to require very deft handling.
