New Joomla works

Some quick info about the next batch of Joomla works we are undertaking to hopefully ensure Freeway becomes the default eCommerce application for Joomla:

1.) Extend the existing Menus for events/services/products/subs to offer the choice to accordion the menu to display a 2nd level of catefgories. If not possible, create a new set called "Freeway Products (accordion menu)" etc.

2.) Consider what is required so the Freeway pages in Joomla can have Search Engine Friendly URL...

I did a talk at Joomla Day in Melbourne on Feb 2nd about Freeway and the integration work we are doing. It was great fun and I was particularly pleased to meet some of the key people in the project and core team members. Isn't Joomla in good shape?

Time away from the Computer

From the 8th December for 10 days my family and I walked the Great Ocean Walk at the bottom of Victoria. It was a huge relief to get away from the computer for some time to peaceful days walking. I would recommend anyone to go on this walk. Some of it is absolutely magnificent. Here are some goals for Freeway in 2008. We are committed to making Freeway rock solid. There are a number of major tasks which we will complete this year including a complete rebuild of the front end templating, localisation, definintions of APIs for extensions and biggest of all, a review and rebuild of the database structure. This is going to be a busy year for Freeway now we are telling the world about what we do.

Visa PABP coming up fast!

A huge consolidation process is about to begin amongst eCommerce software providers around the world due to Visa mandating a timetable to remove eCommerce software which does comply with their PABP certification.

The relevant dates are as follows:

1st July 2008 all new eCommerce installations in USA must be PABP compliant.
1st January 2009 all eCommerce installations in Visa Asia/Pacific region must be PABP compliant (This is the likely date supplied by Vi...
