Bridge to PHPBB

I would like to request a bridge to phpBB or maybe some other forum software I'm not locked into anyone in particular

But it would be great if when a customer registers for your site that they can create Shared account into your forum by a checkbox on the registration form.

Just a few ideas on how it should work:

Shared login/logoff. Users who log into the shopping cart are also logged into phpBB. Logging off from phpBB or shopping cart logs you out of both systems. phpBB login is standardized to e-mail address + password combination like freeway. Logging into phpBB does NOT log you into freeway: this keeps users who are only signing in to post from signing into the shopping cart unaware, putting their personal information at risk should they forget to log off. Shopping carts should always require people to re-enter their password before signing into the cart area.

Oh, I forgot, we have already done a Single Sign On link with vBulletin.

How about we release that as well.

That would be awesome I looked into vBulletin, looks great but it cost money.

phpBB has a better price (free) that's my favorite price...

It is not so much as the free price as how it is licensed that makes us want to use phpBB here. Being GPL, it can combine closely with Freeway. We will build a link with phpBB.

Cheers,

Damian

That's great Damian I'm looking forward to it

I'm very excited I found freeway, it seems to be everything I need, Since I don't really know php, and I'm learning as I go. I still have this pressing issue though I don't have a stable version of freeway
to work with. I understand the issues that are going on with the newest releases, and I anticipate a stable release but I would like to get my hands dirty on the templates so I can get a fluid look for my entire site (my site consists of (informational type pages, a shopping cart w/osCommerce and a forum) but I don't have a working copy of any version.
Freeway 1.2.0.113 has the register globals issue,
I do have TortoiseSVN installed and that points to https://openfreeway.org:443 which uploads this version 1.2.0.134 but that has an issue with creating sessions.

can you point me in the right direction so I can get a copy of a working freeway site?

Thank You,
John
