Newbie with questions about freeway joomla installation

Hello, I'm new here, and I am considering using the freeway joomla installation, but I have a few questions first:

1. Do I install Joomla first or Freeway? and then the extension?
2. If I am using this extension for the website, what about the themes etc.? Can I still use the Joomla layout's etc. and then just use the freeway extension as a component / module?

it would be nice if someone could put together a step by step guide to this joomla freeway installation thing ... I've been looking all over the website for it and have not been too lucky, although I have seen the issues people have experienced and the solutions provided (which is good).

what about payment gateways such as paypal - are they included in the freeway installation / extension for Joomla, or do I have to install another joomla module for that purpose?
