Hi,

I'm thinking of switching over from virtuemart to freeway, but still have some doubts and couldn't find a lot of information regarding certain aspects.

I was wondering whether the following things can be done:
- module in joomla for featured products
- Use a product in an article
- create subcategories
- module to view basket in joomla
- multiple tabs in product information front-end?
- link to specific categories/products from joomla menu system?

All the above is essential for me to consider freeway as an e-commerce solution.

Have you had any luck in your quest.

I would love to use this system but I have been having trouble just to get it installed.

I believe this system has alot of potential but this forum leaves so much to be desired.

Freeway isn't an active project for the Zacware team. As you can tell by the many cell phone advertisements on their forum and the very little amount of response that you get.

You are correct that Freeway has potential. Unfortunately there are a lot of us that have been waiting for it to turn into something. I've been monitoring the main website and the forums for any signs of life since last May 2009 and there hasn't been a release.

The responses were few and far between back then and haven't gotten progessively worse. The promise of a Joomla plug in back in January was the first the home page has been updated in near a year and they continue to promise things and not deliver.

My recomendation is only touch Freeway if you or your team are accomplished developers. The documentation is non-existent and the forums have really gone to minimal support. Your team will have to overcome the obsticles on their own.
