PayPal Module and IE errors

My client just told me he had people writing him telling him that they can't checkout using PayPal.

After checking - I see this is an IE problem only. Once PayPal method of payment is selected and the continue button is clicked, IE brings up an error message saying that it can't open http://mysite.com/link_index.php?option=com_freeway&openfile=checkout_confirmation.php

FireFox has no issues with this at all. Just lack of knowing what to do I uninstalled and re-installed the PayPal module, but that didn't help.

Please help - this is a live store!!

Best to create a bug for this. We can look at it pretty quickly.

Cheers,

Damo

Thanks, I went to go report, then saw that I am not using the most recent version. We updated our demo site first and now we have problems there. So I can't update the live site and see if the problem is still there until we have the problem on the demo fixed.

After updating the demo site, if you click any products you are brought to Freeway's storefront page - which it shouldn't do because we are using Joomla.

I think this is probably a user problem, not a Freeway problem. But if you think you might know what we have done wrong I would sure love to know!

Thanks Damo,
Cheryl

Ok, I need help now. Have just done a complete fresh install of the latest Freeway on a clean database in a different Joomla site and am having the exact same problem.

The products mod (and all others) - when a product is clicked it bring up the freeway storefront page not the actual product.

Here is the screen shot:

Why is this happening? How is this fixed?

Thanks so much
Cheryl

Could it be a server specific problem? There was once similar problem with another issue.

My clean installation, version 160, brings up actual product description, as it should

This is perhaps server issue .. I could recreate the same problem at ... http://mybluespace.org/

Apache version 2.2.8 (Unix)
PHP version 5.2.5
MySQL version 5.0.45

Freeway, version 160

Clicking on either event brings up Dance Classes. After that front page. All other modules bring up front page.

The same version works very well locally

I remember similar problem few months ago. It was then solved by changing 'Use Search-Engine Safe URLs' to false. Unfortunately I cannot find it any more in the new version and thereby test it

Thanks for the points above, seems like we aren't the only ones with this problem.

We are still having this issue with a few JOOMLA sites while attempting to upgrade to the latest SVN which is v160 We don't want to apply the upgrade to a (mostly) working store (with IE issues) until we know everything is good on our test sites.

We have a brand new install of Freeway at www.acra.ca using all the files in the SVN and a new database. We have disabled all the SEF on the site for testing as well. As you can see, the Events listings bring you to the proper page but push the column to the left. The Products come up with the default Freeway front page as described above. We have this happening on another site with the upgrade to 160 done on it as well (but not a fresh install).

So I am thinking that either we screwed up something in the upgrade and the fresh install or that the files that were Joomla specific and used to be in a "freeway.zip" file were not applied to the SVN 160 that we are currently using.

Do you have any ideas Damian? I will send you login info for this site if you wish to take a look in a PM. This is a live site that I am currently rebuilding but doesn't get too much traffic.

The server shouldn't be an issue as we have other Joomla/Freeway sites running OK that haven't been upgraded to 160.

Regards,

Alan

Unfortunately this is not IE issue only. Firefox as well as Opera don't like it either.

As I mentioned before things work just fine locally;
vista, Apache/2.2.6 , PHP Version 5.2.5, Mysql 5.0.45m subversion 160; therefore I don't think this is a browser issue at all but more probably a server issue.

Hi Eva, what Alan is talking about is that we have another Freeway site which is running an older version of Freeway that is having some browser issues with IE. (Alan and I are design partners).

And yes, we are all having the same issues with v160. We will post as soon as we know something. If you come up with a fix would you please post it?

Thanks!
